At the sharp end of our operation is our excellent team of drivers. They are experienced in all aspects of their work, and are committed to providing their passengers with the highest standards in safety, quality and comfort. All drivers hold vehicle licences and accreditation as required by the Queensland Department of Transport and are fitted out with a uniform and name badge that they are required to wear for each job. Our drivers are chosen for their dedication in offering a caring attitude to customer's requirements. In all respects they are the front line ambassadors for Gold Coast Travel.
Gary started the company in 2004 after emigrating from the UK and is the main driving force behind Gold Coast Travel. Gary has had a wealth of industry experience due to operating his own coach, minibus and tour business after taking over the family business in 1993. For the next 11 years Gary took the business into different markets which included local bus service routes, minibus and coach charter work and schools transport, to operating full size executive coaches undertaking long haul U.K and European coach holiday touring. Over the years he gradually built the business up from two vehicles to ten vehicles before selling the business as a going concern in order to emigrate to Queensland with the family.
On a separate note, during the year 2000, Gary successfully completed the UK's Institute of Directors (IOD) 'Company Direction Programme' aimed at giving company directors and business owner's formal training which ultimately helps them run their company better. Gary intends to build the company up over the years in a similar way to his previous UK business.
Jean is currently supporting Gary in Gold Coast Travel by helping with administration work and driving duties. Over the years Jean has always held responsible administrative positions within her working life, and decided to leave her full time employment in 1995 to help Gary run his growing UK coach and bus business.
She was a prominent figure in the success of the business. She helped develop the company's administration department and assisted in introduced such things as a computerised payroll and accounting software system and a computerised charter hire booking system, together with more efficient internal procedures and systems.
One of her key strengths is being able to get tasks completed quickly whilst paying attention to detail. Jean is a welcomed asset to Gary and Gold Coast Travel and will again help the company to improve its systems and procedures.
